Potato Casserole: Simple Yet It Tastes So Good
Potato casserole is a simple, quick and cheap dish to prepare at home. It is usually eaten as a side dish but you can make it for dessert. Below is a simple recipe for mashed potato casserole which you can make at home as a side dish:
Ingredients:
- 6 potatoes, peeled
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 pound cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 cup crumbled corn flakes
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream (8 ounces)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- onion salt
Instructions:
1. First of all, in a pot filled with enough water, add in the potatoes and boil them until done. Remove from heat then drain.
2. Transfer the cooked potatoes in a bowl and add in the milk then mash the potatoes well.
3. In a saucepan, add in the chicken soup and butter then bring to a boil.
4. In a large bowl, add in the grated cheddar cheese, sour cream and onion salt. Combine and mix well then add this mixture into the saucepan with the soup mixture. Stir until everything is blend well then add in the mashed potatoes.
5. Transfer everything to a casserole dish.
6. In a small bowl, add in the crumbled corn flakes and butter. Combine and mix well then spread this mixture over everything as toppings for the casserole.
7. Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 45 minutes.
